Anyone watch their videos? Pure outdoor cooking porn.

Saw them using this cool knife - an Old Hickory butchers knife. Made of carbon steel, and cheap as chips (we pay a premium in the UK, but still cheap as chips). It is the ideal outdoor cooking knife, tough as nails, can use it to chop wood, or slice tomatoes. Hardwood handle and you can sharpen it on a flat stone

Being carbon steel, it will rust - so you have to take care when washing - but that doesn't bother me at all.

I had to have one - so I ordered it - 16.99 inc delivery for a 10" butchers knife.

Looked at these knives a while ago, they certainly seem good value for the dollar but they do need care as they will rust, that being said the one thing I was not to keen on was that they only have two rivets in the handle, three rivets would be much better IMHO. Still, might get one just for the fun of it!!

As you say - at the price, it is a fun knife, and I'm not too fussed with using it outdoors, or using it to chop through some bone or cartiledge. I've chipped one of my stainless steel chef knives doing that and I was not impressed with myself!

As for rust - meh.. Just treat it good, and it will treat you good. Keep it clean, dry it off and maybe put a light smear of vegetable oil on it. I do this with all my cast iron and black iron cookware - so not a biggie.

Apparently they do not come particularly sharp - so a good opportunity to hone my sharpening skills (pun intended!)

I got it. This thing kicks ass! Strong, sturdy, handle feels great in my large hands, and it will slice through bones and cartilage fairly easily and without damage. Remarkably sharp out the box too.

I could probably lift a Dutch oven lid with this.

For the money, this is the best value knife
out there!

They aren't the only ones who won't ship knives to the UK, I thought I had a good deal on the Guy Fieri knives, till I put in the shipping address I know they are available here in the UK, I believe from american bbq but what a price!! Was going to get them for my daughter as a housewarming pressie, settled for as BBQ instead

You can always find someone who will ship to the UK.

Unless the item I outrageously overpriced locally, I prefer to buy here. Looking at a $49 guy fieri knife, taking shipping and vat into account, it pretty much costs the same at the uk outlet at £49.

Treated myself to the 10 inch Butcher knife and the 8 inch slicing knife a couple of weeks ago, I used the big boy last night to slice up a hunk of medium rare sirloin - well pleased!!!! Could do with a run on a steel just to put a final edge on it but sharp enough to do the job. Can't wait to trim up the next rack of spare ribs with this baby!!!
