Meat Grinders...

Post by Leviakhan »

Anyone recommend a meat grinder/mincing machine?

I've looked on amazon and found a few but i'd rather hear from you guys about them.

Yeah the machine is for making sausages as i've got my burgers sorted and want to move on to other meaty things :)

Regards

Personally I use a Kenwood mixer with the meat grinder and sausage stuffing system which works really well, also if you're getting your meat from your butcher don't bother buying hog casings online, tell him what you're doing and ask if you can get some from him. My butcher does this for me and they keep for months if you store them in your fridge in salt water.

I've got an Italian hand cranked jobby.

One of these http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products ... t-grinder/

It's very good but takes a bit of work. It excels for mincing softer meats as it doesn't mush them up. Cheap mincers can do this apparently

I know the grinder on Kenwood mixers is good as I've used it before.

Sorry I got mine from TCM in the good old days, agree with getting your casings from your butcher, some are wet stored, some dry but all need rinsing. Used to have a Kenwood with mincer attachment and can confirm the are the bendy bits on a bee's leg ;).

I have a decent little machine that I got from sausagemaking.org

I'm flogging it if you're interested as I want to upgrade.
