That's the second time I have seen that thermostat box in as many days. Over on pelletheads.com, a couple of the guys have put together a customer traeger controller using something that looks pretty much identical to that. No technical details yet, as they obviously want to to prove the concept first.

Still, I'm also fairly interested in what the cost of the kit would be, but without the battery and blower.

Hi guys and girls, confucius once said change to gas and you'll have no worries over controlling temps :D ;)

Sadly KCBS say no gas.

Although it might be practical it's no good for competitions.

it'll become too easy if gas was allowed on comps. I suppose that's part of the challenge ;)......like fishing in a river with a net :lol:

would love to try pizza in my smoker, afraid the thing will warp as It's a low budget build :( had it over 550f once and wouldn't like to chance it again

At the mo when I make pizza, I make it on ceramic covered trays. I have to heat up the base of the tray over the hob then place in the oven....it turns out fine, but I'd like to do them at really high temp sometime.

I use a pizza stone for the kids and they like it more than dominos.

Cheeper as well.
