That's the second time I have seen that thermostat box in as many days. Over on pelletheads.com, a couple of the guys have put together a customer traeger controller using something that looks pretty much identical to that. No technical details yet, as they obviously want to to prove the concept first.

Still, I'm also fairly interested in what the cost of the kit would be, but without the battery and blower.

Although it might be practical it's no good for competitions.
Re: My Budget Digital Thermostat
it'll become too easy if gas was allowed on comps. I suppose that's part of the challenge

Re: My Budget Digital Thermostat
didn't confucius also say use the oven and you'll have no worries over controlling temperatures?
Re: My Budget Digital Thermostat
he also said, don't smoke wood in the kitchen without wearing goggles
Re: My Budget Digital Thermostat
would love to try pizza in my smoker, afraid the thing will warp as It's a low budget build
had it over 550f once and wouldn't like to chance it again
Re: My Budget Digital Thermostat
At the mo when I make pizza, I make it on ceramic covered trays. I have to heat up the base of the tray over the hob then place in the oven....it turns out fine, but I'd like to do them at really high temp sometime.
