I just wanted to post a quick note, to say a massive, massive thank you to the man John Hargate - He was kind enough to take me up on my offer to be his stand-in driver/team member for last weekend's TS2012 Competition in the Netherlands.
It was a great experience - A once in a lifetime opportunity for a complete novice like me. I had a truly awesome time, learnt a lot and have been well and truly bitten by 'the bug' - Can't wait for next time. John's a top man on all levels and it was a great pleasure to hang out for the weekend and watch him at work - Thanks again John.
I'd also like to extend another huge thank you to Ed & Emma - The Bunch of Swines - It was great to meet you both - Such nice people and thanks again for your extremely kind donation to the cause - Looks like I'll be smoking sooner than I thought!
Anyone who is considering getting into competition BBQ, but hasn't yet taken the plunge, I'd say do it! Great people, lots of fun and lots of great food - Does it get any better than that?

Well said!
Both the teams you met are perfect examples of the family we have on the circuit. Everyone helps each other and it's all about good food, good beer and good times. I'd recommend trying a comp to anyone, particularly MiM because it is such a close community vibe there.
Well done to John, Ed and Emma too for welcoming yet another person into the fold!

I had the pleasure of meeting John, Ed and Steve, amongst others, at Rudgwick last year and it was the people that bought me back to compete this year, I left that field and knew I just had to come back.
