Pozdravi ot Bulgaria!

Postby Jimj40 » 16 May 2015, 07:13

Hi, Gang

I live in Sofia, Bulgaria and am an "old hand" at BBQ - but always happy to learn some new tricks and techniques! I have a variety of "fire pits" from a crappy old kettle (okay for cold smoking), an Old Smokey, a big cast-iron fire-pit-cum-grill and a Napoleon charcoal cart. Everyone and his dog is an "expert" over here - most with no real idea of what they're doing ;). I'm thinking of adding a 6-rack Bradley Digital to my armoury but I'm hesitating over the very mixed reviews regarding reliability....

Hi There from the North East of England

Spent some time in Bulgaria, various different times during 2005 - 2008 in Bansko, Sofia, Varna & Sunny Beach. No I wasn't selling properties I was In Finance. Had some good times at the Kempinski and no not the playboy bar! Lol!

Cuts of meat were difficult to get in Bansko but plenty of open fire roasted Lamb and potatoes! Yummy.

Have you thought of a pellet smoker rather than a Bradley due to the limitation of using their biscuits. Pellets seem to be the option to go for set and forget

Thanks for your reply :)

I'm in two minds about pellet smokers, mainly because there seems to be no-one actually selling a range of them over here but also because I've heard that they can be problematic. Of course, there are also stories of people having problems with Bradleys also....it seems that life is never set-and-forget!

Look up Green Mountain Grills www.greenmountaingrills.co.uk the Daniel Boon version, its getting rave reviews and better than Bradley by all accounts
