Well, when I got up at 5:30 it was grey but not raining. There were a few spots but no real rain (I actually put the maverick transmitter in a plastic bag and sealed it just in case!).

The pulled pork was great. It hit 195 at around 4.30 so we ate just after 5 - pork was tender and not dry - maybe a little dry on the 'thin' side of the blade.

Went well with a ketchup based finishing sauce from a Weber book!

Did you end up doing pork, Simple-BBQ? And how was yours, RobinC?

Not impressed with the one I did when compared to my local butcher joints. It will do me for 'filler' rolls but I'll probably not bother getting it again.

RobinC, sounds wonderful! I'm salivating at the thought. I don't know about you but I do struggle with the early mornings at the weekend but it's always worth it in the end. I did some belly pork slices on the the simple-bbq grill. Seasoned with some Butt Rub, they were rather tasty.
