charcoal help uds

I know its already been asked but I can't find anything I have finally finished the uds and now ready to session it I have bought some Australian heat beads and was wondering how much I need for a burn ie how many kg for say a 12 hour burn

Can't comment for heatbeads, but I manage well over 12 hours on 5kg of lumpwood. Save your heatbeads and go to Sainsburys - the basics lumpwood is £4 for 4kg and is actually damn good stuff. Use the heatbeads when you cook

im not sure id be spending the money on heat beads just to season it, id use some supermarket stuff and save the heatbeads for an actual cook

I have not done a big cook yet 6hrs max, I switched to big k ach15 and never looked back it is better than any lump wood I have used.

I used under 5kg on my cheap offset and got a good 6hrs

I used about 6kg of heat beads in my ProQ on my first ever cook and got 17hrs using the minion method. I was extremely happy with that.
