Feel free to ask any questions, one of the experts will certainly respond, don't be afraid to ask anything, we were all beginners at some point.

Hi, just wanted to ask what's the best smoker to get for a beginner and what's the best and easiest food to start off with. Also, what food probe is best to start off with and what's the best charcoal to use for long smokes. Cheers

Welcome and a bunch of questions but here is what I started with and has done me no harm at all;
Smoker - WSM 47"
Easiest to start - chicken because of time (it is quick) and Pork shoulder because it is forgiving
Probe - Marverick Redichek (although now I just trust the PartyQ to control the pit and do the meat by touch/colour)
Fuel - heat beads
Short answers but hope it helps.

If you can make one I'd highly recommend building a UDS - rock solid temps, low fuel consumption. Plus it's made by you
