Reheating brisket

Postby PeteW » 11 Dec 2013, 20:40

Hello!

Anyone have any tips for re-heating brisket in small batches? I like to cook enough at a weekend to have some leftovers to keep me going through the week. With pulled pork I splash on some apple juice and bbq sauce, give it a stir and microwave it up - bit of a sin, but it works and tastes fine! Brisket is a bit harder though! How would you guys go about reheating it if you were just doing enough for a couple sandwiches?

Cheers

Pete

Best way i've found to reheat brisket in small amounts is to put it on a small plate with some pieces of cheese covering it and then put it in the microwave for 60 seconds. The grease from the cheese replaces any moisture that you might loose when microwaving it

And everything is better with cheese

I don't have a microwave, and am doing a huge brisket this weekend so will have some leftovers to reheating. I'm going to try two ways - reheating in sauce, and reheating an unsliced lump in a vac bag. I'll let you know how they go!
