Metal skewers

If you stick a metal skewer through a potato it radiates the heat through into the middle for a faster more even cook.

Do you think it would work the same if you have a skewer in or just a leave in thermometer?

I have no idea, however I would be worried (probably needlessly) of skewering a large jopint as its two more avenues for juices to escape. The temp probes tend to self seal so maybe a skewer would as well :?

Sounds like a simple (and tasty) experiment is to be had!
