BBQ TUNAGE

Post by Big_Fat_Dan »

I know most of you have been cooking all through the winter, but the weather is on the up and BBQ season is upon us, so what sort of tunes do you like to pump out and your bbq gathering? Discuss please.

Myself, i like to mix it up, start off with something light, maybe some Bob Marley or maybe even a little Johnny Cash/Neil Young, then step it up a notch The Black Keys will defiantly be making a appearance this year, then when the alcohol is flowing, get some Led Zepp out or even some Pearl Jam and strum away at that burger flipper

Love the topic!

Being almost an antique, for me sounds of the summer over chilled beers would be The Beach Boys era. Come the cooler and more relaxed, alcohol infused, evenings I have to agree with a bit of Zep, Floyd, Purple or Free. However there will always be Blues on at some stage, either old masters like The Kings (BB, Albert or Freddie), "New Generation" like Eric Clapton, John Mayall or the late great Gary Moore up to the "babes-in-arms" Of Joe Bonamassa a true guitar and vocal legend.

I will listen to pretty much anything, having said that we had a thrash metal fan at a BBQ comp and I think that hit a few nerves

Keeping in the Southern States BBQ theme I'll stick with a nice bit of country. Zac Brown Band, Toby Keith etc.

Regardless of how popular Mr Shea & I are with Esselle (and there is nowt wrong with good country) I'm sorry to say that Thrash metal, Music a la garbage leaves etc. me cold, but sadly, due to my age a lot of the "music" from the last 10 years or so just doesn't feature in my collection. We have a mix of just about everything, rock-a-billie, swing, disco, soul, funk and lots more we'll listen to just about anything, well written, played and or performed.

I subscribed it that playlist a whole ago, it's a winner!

I love all era's of music for different reasons, the only music i detest is really cheesy boy bands crap, and x factor stuff, makes my blood boil.

If it's just me then it's mainly rock and metal, from the mighty Status Quo all the way through to Black / Death Metal.

If there's a few of us then I have a few compilations albums stuff like "Best BBQ Songs....Ever!" and "Top 100 Summer Songs".
