Hi all,
Really getting into the WSM Slow and Low cooking methods but wondered views on the Maverick Thermometers/Probes. People seem to think they are best ones to go for ? ET72 or ET73 ?
Any suggestions/views/best price/place to get these in the UK would be most helpful.
Also any tips on compatibility/usage with the 47cm WSM would be great.
Many thanks

Re: Maverick Wireless Thermometers
I also looked in the uK, but eventually went for this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251564446958? ... OU:GB:3160
Took about three weeks to get here, very pleased with it so far.

Unless you have problems with wireless signals the 732 is fine in my opinion, I picked mine up in the US but they are on amazon

Re: Maverick Wireless Thermometers
I have the maverick 732 and it's served me well, they don't have the best build quality however. My first one gave random temperature readings and had to be returned, and if you read the reviews on amazon a lot of people have had faulty units. Be careful not to get the probes wet as this could well knacker them and they're not cheap to replace. For some unknown reason there's not really much in the way of competitive alternatives, hence why the maverick is pretty much the go to option.

I ordered my 73 on ebay from a US seller. Couldn't find a supplier in the UK.
With the exchange rate it worked out at £61.

Re: Maverick Wireless Thermometers
After reading posts on here I opted for the ET-732. There is one probe for the grill temp and one for internal food temp.
I found it straight forward to set up alarms for min and max temp. Handy to be able to see how temps progressing both on grill and food without keep opening lid to take meat temp readings.
I got mine from Macsbbq about a month ago via amazon for £60 +p&p. Delivery was quick and happy with service.
