found this on monday on amazon and ordered it, and got it today, tested it with boiling water and its spot on,very good price and very good reviews as well:

Not sure if you've got a pit probe but these are very reasonable, can be used in a conventional oven as well

I have one of these - and you cannot beat it for the price. Only issue is that it takes a while to settle down and give you a temperature. A good 10-15 seconds. I have ordered a thermapen.

aris old chap if you are referring to the ikea Fantast then it should be in situe throughout the cook, then when your calculations (and a sneaky glance at the readout) indicate the meat is near done a swift thrust (oooh matron) with your trusty thermopen will indicate whether the aforesaid beasty part is cooked.
You really do need both

after using this quite a lot over the weekend (beef brisket and a big old pork loin) i can see what some of the other posters mean,it takes ages to give a temp a good 15-30 seconds, so if your on a budget its ok but if u can afford something a bit quicker then get that!
