Hi guys,
Does anybody know where to get a good slab of beef ribs, the bigger the better? I have access to a Booker and I will ask them the next time I am there but I wondered if anybody knew if they do them already by special order? I know that not everything they have access to is placed out ready for sale as once time I ordered some flank steak specially and it worked well, now it is in the coolers so that is even better.
I have only ever had beef ribs once in San Fran, CA and they were huge, maybe 8-10 inches of bone and then very thick meat.
Does anyone have any experience of this and what kind of weights and prices do you get/pay e.g. a 4 rib slab weighs 2kgs and you pay £10 in total, something like that just an example. Where do you get yours from?
Thanks guys
Where to get Beef Ribs and what prices/weights would they be

The only ones I got were online, they have come out of the freezer this morning to thaw for the weekend. I would suggest trying Amazon as they will give you an idea of prices. Sorry I can't help any further, I will be awaiting the answers to your queries though

Hi Keith,
Thanks for your post. Can you post the link of the beef ribs you have? How long are the ribs you have and how much do they way, roughly.
Thanks

Hi SR I got mine from here; http://www.donaldrussell.com/beef-back-rib.html
They are EXPENSIVE and short, the rack I'm defrosting is 9" long and the longest og 6 rib bones is only 5". There appears to be little in the way of meat on the back, but I'll let you know how they taste.

I got a rack of beef ribs from my local smallholder, see if you can build a relationship with someone with pigs and cows, so you can get the cuts of meat you need straight from them.
