Ahar, thank you Guy! I'm glad you cleared that up, as I don't normally buy a part of a shoulder any more, I just get the whole thing (mmm, stuffed pigs trotter with a ham hock roast anyone?). I usually forgoe the ribs, for which my butcher thinks I'm crazy, but I just find them unpalatable compared to thick belly ribs.

@Dduffs - did you ever try that butcher in Wroughton? I'm a big fan of Andrew's Quality Meats in Highworth/Marlborough/Wootton Bassett but I'm trying to find somewhere this week nr Swindon that I can be confident will give me a proper butt!Dduffs71 wrote:Thanks Ed

We've been using Andrews in Marlborough a lot recently and was surprised that when i first asked for a butt of pork i got the pork butt with no extra timing required.olga_edney wrote:@Dduffs - did you ever try that butcher in Wroughton? With Berry's, you'll need to give them a call first to make sure they have a side of pork in for you.
