pork butt

Feel free to ask any questions, one of the experts will certainly respond, don't be afraid to ask anything, we were all beginners at some point.

Ahar, thank you Guy! I'm glad you cleared that up, as I don't normally buy a part of a shoulder any more, I just get the whole thing (mmm, stuffed pigs trotter with a ham hock roast anyone?). I usually forgoe the ribs, for which my butcher thinks I'm crazy, but I just find them unpalatable compared to thick belly ribs.

@Dduffs - did you ever try that butcher in Wroughton? I'm a big fan of Andrew's Quality Meats in Highworth/Marlborough/Wootton Bassett but I'm trying to find somewhere this week nr Swindon that I can be confident will give me a proper butt!

We've been using Andrews in Marlborough a lot recently and was surprised that when i first asked for a butt of pork i got the pork butt with no extra timing required.

With Berry's, you'll need to give them a call first to make sure they have a side of pork in for you.
