Hello from Hampshire

Post by muddyfunster »

Hi,

I have been reading these forums for a while so thought I would do the decent thing and register.

I have been bbqing for a few years and have also done a little smoking on a Weber kettle. Recently purchased a WSM so am hoping to get better results and cook/smoke more from now on.

Hi muddy,
I have always cooked on weber kettle which worked fine but looking to upgrade too. Looked at WSM but for 47 or 57 cm are a little over budget. I would be interested to hear your experience of the differences.

regards,

Cosham now, but a Gosport man for 30 years until the A32 was too much to bear.......Think we are in a bit of an BBQ desert, Brighton is the closest I have found for decent BBQ, as for good burgers I went to 6oz in Portsmouth as they had great reviews but they were terrible so its off to 5 guys in whitely next unless you have an local tip?

Cheers

Hello again,

I believe 7bone in Southampton is a good burger joint though I have not eaten there myself. Also feed by the entrance to Gunwharf quays has also been recommended but again I have not dined there myself. Both recommendations were by a good chef friend so they cannot be that bad. Tbh I don't think you can beat home smoking/cooking.
