In case it is of interest to any wood pellet users (or folk considering a purchase of a pellet grill), I have done a little price analysis on my own food blog website, from the two suppliers that I use, The American BBQ Company, and Liverpool Wood Pellets. As minimum orders and bag weights differ, I have reduced it down to a simple price per pound of pellets.
A summary: Cheapest of all are Lil Devils, from Liverpool Wood Pellets, which come in 40-48p/lb, depending on quantity purchase. It should be noted that these are a relatively mild blend of woods, but a good general use pellet. Other prices range from 60p/lb, for the GMG blends sold by The American BBQ Company, through to £0.84-1.00/lb for various 100% wood varieties.

Re: Pellet Costs
Like you mentioned some pellets have "fillers" added so the Hickory pellets might not be 100% hickory etc, which can work out as a false economy in the long run. The fillers could alter the taste also depending what the filler is.

Re: Pellet Costs
The Cookshack Hickory pellets are 60% oak and 40% hickory. However, the Lumberjack 100% Hickory pellets are 100% hickory; they also do hickory blends, but the 100% Hickory are just that.
I like the Cookshack Hickory pellets just fine, but I've yet to try Lumberjack, although I'll probably be buying some when I place my next order.

Re: Pellet Costs
Unfortunately, my last order with Liverpool Wood Pellets was a bit of a disaster. They took my order, and only after they have taken payment did I learn that their only stock was stuck in customs. 4 weeks later, they still hadn't delivered, nor given any indication of delivery, furthermore they were no longer even responding to my emails. Note that my emails were not of the "deliver now" kind, but "do you know when they will be delivered, because I need to make sure I'll be in to receive them". If they had said "3 weeks from now, what day is good for you?", I would have been happy, but instead they tried to ignore me. In the end I phoned them to cancel the order.
About a week after the order was cancelled and my card credited, the pellets arrived by van, unannounced; badly packed, and boxes split open. I refused delivery.
This is a shame because the Lil Devils really were a good budget option. But this order really did try my patience.
