On the Shelves now !!
Just been to Asda and to go with their range of pre cooked ribs, you can now get 'pulled pork' and slow cooked brisket.

Re: On the Shelves now !!
I owned up to buying some for evaluation last year. I think it's the same crap quality product some wannabe Tex-Mex restaurants use to charge an extra £3 to create a Pulled Pork burger. I haven't tried their brisket but it cannot be worse than the Texas Brisket that Waitrose sold a couple of years ago.
Re: On the Shelves now !!
I will let you know what there like on Wednesday as the kids put one the brisket and some jerk ribs in the trolley whilst I wasn't looking
If its crap( I expect it is ) I'm gunna make them eat it all as punishment.

Like the Waitrose products, I think the aim is to get people who haven't tried the real thing interested in the style of low and slow. Then maybe find out how to make the products themselves? Buy a Pro Q or WSM? Or am I just being naive.

It's a thought, but they had a whole shelf full of BBQ wonders including Heston's burgers which were A SIGHT MORE TASTY than the beef

Just back from Asda their quick cook flavoured ribs now include cherrywood smoked, bourbon glazed ribs and slow smoked Beef Ribs. Maybe after the course on Saturday we'll try some when the price is low, then we'll be a better judge of their quality.....or lack of it

Go to agree with Toby here
Bloody awful
Tried pre cooked ribs today....euchhhh! Absolutely tasteless and dry, says on the packet they are cooked in the bag to retain flavour and moisture
the wife got them for me from Sainsbury coz I was staring at the wsm longingly and needed a fix. Words can not describe just how bad they were....only done ribs a handful of times and I ain't no championship cook but mine are a million times better.
Best given a miss, boiled in the bag rubbish and at six quid....daylight robbery
