American Royal Invitational

i put a proposal forward to the American Royal almost year ago when it became apparent that they didnt have a fixed qualifying procedure for international teams. i must admit that i didnt expect anything to happen this season but i have received this today.

International Qualifying Criteria for Invitational
• The qualifying contest must be held between August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012
• A minimum of ten teams MUST participate in ALL contest categories required to be considered Grand Champion.
• Contest MUST be governed by a legitimate, substantiated sanctioning body.
• The team eligible and entered to compete in the American Royal Invitational MUST be the SAME team and Chief Cook who won the qualifying contest.
• Domestic teams MAY NOT qualify for the American Royal Invitational on international soil
• The American Royal reserves the right to request contest results for authentication.
• The American Royal reserves the right to alter, amend, or disregard these rules.
• The American Royal reserves the right to consider individual team circumstances on a case-by-case basis in order to determine Invitational eligibility at its sole discretion.

This means that the Grand Champion at all competitions sanctioned by The International BBQ Network will qualify for the American Royal invitational. Having taken teams over there a couple of times, i am sure you will hear some great stories of just how amazing this event is!
