First Cook

Post by crosby »

Well I had my first cook on Saturday on my Excel 20 and I have to say...I'm hooked.

I started it a bit late (dragged out shopping :( ) but managed to cook 2 chickens and a rack of ribs although it was dark by the time I finished. The chicken was so moist and the meat just fell off the ribs, planning a pork butt for the easter weekend and now need to source some wood as all I have is the freebie pack I got with the smoker. When I have managed to shrink the photos I add them.

Check out Paul his prices are great and so is his delivery time. For the quantity and quality you get the value is fantastic. Not just me there are several other endorsements on here. It's Gouldon Hardwoods, a lot of what he sells are offcuts from furniture grade hardwoods and look like it (I've sneaked a couple of bits out of the smoking box to run through my scrollsaw when I can get to it :D ) here is his website

Good luck and send pics please.

Thanks for the offer Eddie but I should be okay; I plan to buy some next week which should be fine for the Easter weekend. Keep an eye on your PMs on Good Friday though in case of emergencies :D
