Hi Everyone
The International BBQ Network will be hosting numerous competitions this year. The British BBQ Society remains but in the form of the forum which will still be funded and managed by IBQN.
Our web site is currently under construction and will continue to be populated over the coming weeks. In the mean time please find links to the dates and costs for each competition. http://ibqn.com/?page_id=129
We are offering a 10% discount for anyone that wishes to pay for all 4 PitMasters competitions in advance.
Please make sure you read our rules which can be found here http://ibqn.com/?page_id=115 Updates will be made on the main website, only notification of any changes will be made on the forum.
This year we have 2 places for the Jack Daniels Invitational and funds available to the fortunate teams who win the coveted places.
The British Team will be the team that accumulated the most points over the Brighton and Lake District competitions, all team members must hold valid UK passports.
The IBQN European BBQ Championship will take place at the Big BBQ, Canvey Island, Essex and the overall winner will win the place to the Jack Daniels, all team members must hold valid EU passports. This is the first winner takes all European competition and we are very excited to add it to our calendar.
As you will see from the competition page, there are now cash prizes for Grand Champion (£1,000) and Reserve Champion (£500), trophies for main categories and certificates for the optional categories. This excludes Brighton which is a charity event and alternative prizes will be offered to a similar value.
Meat boxes are still available from IBQN at a cost of £100, this includes 1 x Brisket, 1 x Pork Butt, 2 x racks of spares and 10 x chicken thighs. We do not offer part boxes and payment must be received with competition entry.
We will be announcing a date in March for a cooking weekend which will include all aspects of competition BBQ, butchery and grilling. This will be run by a very well-known and respected personality.
We will also be running a “What the judges look for” seminar, judging certification classes and another beginner’s competition cooking class. If you know anyone that may be interested in becoming a competition judge please forward my details.
If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Re: Further competition info
Excellent News! So not £250 after all that is good. That will mean Miss Piggy's will be entering all 4. I know there was talk of prize money but I didn't expect that to happen either. Also the funding to help the winning entries to the Jack is the biggest surprise. Whatever team's make it will be doubly lucky now. If you are a team of 2, which most are, that will pay all of your accomodation for a week and both flights! Good Luck everyone!

Still two, just waiting to find out from the Jack if the preference would be for the RGC at the European BBQ Championships or the RGC from the British circuit getting the second place. Thinking about a clean sweep?
