Would a breeze block wrapped in foil work just as well as a brick?

I only ask as i have one of those left over from some building work, and it will save me going to B&Q as I always buy more than I intent to when I go there.

First Cook

Well I had my first cook on Saturday on my Excel 20 and I have to say...I'm hooked.

I started it a bit late (dragged out shopping :( ) but managed to cook 2 chickens and a rack of ribs although it was dark by the time I finished. The chicken was so moist and the meat just fell off the ribs ...

They are a good buy, we bought one a couple of years ago from costco mainly for camping, it also now gets used as giant beer/cider/wine/vodka cooler on summer days and a storage box in the shed over winter.

Cawky - I did wonder what the "Webers are awsome" comment was, I thought there was some gang warfare on the site for a minute with Webers vs. ProQs and you were letting me know which side you were on. :)

After many years of drooling over pictures of smokers on the internet I finally took the plunge and bought a ProQ Excel 20 which I picked up yesterday.
