There's a good hot dog stand in London apparently: m < I don't think they'll post sausages out to you (but you never know).

I make my own sausages when I get time, haven't tried making franks or Polish sausage yet, might give it a go. Or I could just check out the Polish deli in the next village ...

Going to trial something over the weekend, if it's good I might at least fill in the entry form. Have a feeling they'll want something a bit unusual to win (despite what they say on the site) to get PR coverage, whereas I'm inclined towards a more 'democratic' and straightforward dish like a pie ...

I just came across this thread, I know it's a few months old but wanted to add my thoughts. I've been thinking for a few years now that there's a huge opportunity to introduce US-style BBQ restaurants to the UK, but I DON’T see them as fast-food outlets trying to compete with the established burger ...

Leicestershire Cookoff competition

As there are a few Leicestershire people on the forum I though this may be of interest: m - not a BBQ topic per-se but no reason why Leicestershire's "county dish" shouldn't be BBQed, smoked, marinaded or grilled. Not sure I'll have time to enter but if I do I'm thinking along the lines of sausages ...

I've recently become interested in 'proper' BBQ after many years of being totally underwhelmed by the British BBQ tradition of cremating sausages and chicken drumsticks. Now experimenting with brining, smoking and slow-roasting on a very cheap and cheerful covered gas unit, hopefully ...
