Thanks for the video, there is a lot on there, needless to say that the pellet making setup is well over a Million Quid with all the bells and whistles. Needless to say ours in not that big.
Things are progressing slowly (too slowly for me personally) however the pellets could be better so we are ...

Re: Wood Pellets
Morning Gentlemen,
Just a quick update:
All is not going well with the manufacturing process, as I still have not managed to make an acceptable pellet, it is a lot, lot harder than I initially thought it would be, but we will continue. The problem is getting the specific moisture content of the ...

Re: Wood Pellets
I agree with Essexsmoker, that's the way I was thinking, that way you can tailor your smoke depending on what you are cooking. The other argument is like I mentioned in a previous post is if the smoke flavour is too strong and it needs diluting, but personally I think it is going to be fine with UK ...

Re: Wood Pellets
Our initial intention is to produce a single species pellet from 100% pure wood, not woodchips and dust from a carpenters floor or the left overs from Oak furnitureland. However if the general consensus prefers blends we will make blended pellets. Our initial aim is to make Apple, Beech, Cherry ...

Re: Wood Pellets
Thanks for the reply Tiny and apologies for the faux pas which has now been rectified. I originally lost my first edition of the post as the system logged me out when I hit the submit button. To say the air was blue was an understatement, so I was rushing as not to let it happen again. I have also ...

Re: Wood Pellets
We have just invested heavily in pellet manufacturing equipment and will be starting making out own pellets in the next week or so.
I understand that price is an important factor when buying pellets, however all is not equal when it comes to pellet manufacturing and like most things you get what ...

Re: Asthma and BBQs
I am afraid your neighbour could be right. In certain asthma patients they are called "trigger mechanisms", and this is where a product or substance sets their asthma off, and unfortunately the smoke could be triggering her asthma which basically sets her asthma off. However it also depends how well ...

Re: macro frozen boxed ribs
I bought the frozen ribs that were £20.00 for a 10 Kg box, and they are fantastic. They have plenty of meat on and they cook up fantastic. I have tried uploading the photo, but for some reason it won't upload.

Re: Barbecue Cookoff TV Show
I totally agree there was an easy solution with the salmon but that wasnt the point I was trying to make.
Although I would say none of us can imagine what pressure that was especially the first show and nobody wants to be the first off and I bet anyones head would have been spinning at that point ...

Re: Pellet Costs
Like you mentioned some pellets have "fillers" added so the Hickory pellets might not be 100% hickory etc, which can work out as a false economy in the long run. The fillers could alter the taste also depending what the filler is.
