I've started using twitter a lot for food purposes.

follow a lot of bbq people such us PittCueCo, Barbecoe, Red Dog Saloon. Also follow MEATliquor, Lucky Chip, Ginger Pig,

I use twitter quite a bit and share thoughts, photos of food etc. There is quite a big BBQ 'scene' and it is an easy way of communicating with various well know competitors who are more than happy to discuss techniques and methods. It is also great way of sharing contacts too with the popular #ff (follow friday, where by each friday you list the people you like following and your followers can then choose to follow them) some of my favorites are:
