Keep me up to date on this as if an order dose go in i might be in for a couple of boxes and I don’t mind picking them up form Toby if need be. if you are ordering the restaurant grade lumpwood that is.

Yep - but don't know if it is just the two bags that I've had from a new supplier or simply due to there being much more moisture in the air recently... New Big K on tonight for fish, so we'll see if that does it too.

I've gone over to CoCo shell & not just for Tree Hugging. If there were the odd bag left over I'd be happy to take up any slack at MIM if that would swing a deal for anyone (at present I've got a fairly large stash so it isn't a priority for me).

Just checked out and I can't order BigK Restaurant lump to be delivered to my post code and I won't be coming to any of the upcoming events other than Grillsotck so can't even join any group buy, on top of that the LWP site is no longer showing the restaurant charcoal, only the retail packs?!

I did click on that but was unclear as to whether they ship to me or not, sent them an email to query though as would like to buy it. Do you know what mix of wood this is from and bags you've bought?

I don't know what wood it is - would be interested to find out.
I bought two 10kg bags as an experiment after seeing the recommendations on here from a few people. Want to know if it is better than the restaurant lump (blue bags stuff) iv'e been using previously. It works out more expensive for me due to the postage. Going to have my first 'Big K only' fire tonight when we do pizza - last two cooks have been with left over charcoal from the previous charcoal topped up with some Big K, so we'll see it it can get up to temperature & hold it as well.

Let me know what it's like, disappointed with the current blue bag lump with spitting and more ash than normal, my locally sourced charcoal is more ash than oak and takes ages to start burning clean which is a problem for those foods you don't want smoke flavour in, yes I confess I eat food that doesn't always taste of smoke

It's a shame as I love the local charcoal but I can't continue to use it as I need a predictable fuel that allows me to have a degree of control on the smokiness, I liked the BGE stuff but at £20 for 10kg and £16 for postage it makes a bag quite expensive, although if you max the delivery out with 3 bags it comes down to a £2.50 a kg, still not great
