Finally my build is complete

Postby Backyardsmoker » 15 Jul 2013, 10:31

Its taken me longer than I thought due to weather restrictions, family commitments, and a change in work shifts.

So here is my creation. There is
a smoker
A grill
And a tri pod

Im probaby going to get some knock backs and stupid remarks about it. But I would like to point out that I have never ever made anything out of bricks before, I planned it all in paper and it took loads of different styles but this is the one I ended up wanting. Im very proud of my efforts I juat hope the smoker works. I do need to make some adjuatments but nothing major.. her she is.

Very interesting design, like the tripod, just a suggested addition:- power supply and a brick compartment for the beer fridge. From the look of that construction you intend spending a lot of time BBQing beasties and you will need refreshments. Good cooking.

I only finished it sunday. So I have only burnt wood just to season the bricks and burn off any cement or brick dust. Theres. Whole lot of stuff going on down there. I have a summer house being delivered next and I am putting decking down this weekend.

I built big because I like to cook out side and I intend to have a few "small" parties haha   im thinking about stocking up on various logs apple/cherry/hickory that kind ofnthing and storing them in the middle.

This weekend is my step daughters 5th birthday so im going to try out a couple of pork shoulders and maybe a brisket. See how it goes. Of course photos will follow

I hope this weather holds out till september so I can have some proper use out of it... but the other reason for the summer house is so I can do smokes over winter and relax in the summer house.

Sod it, just ask yourself does it work? Are you happy with it? Now you've done it, is there anything you would do differently if you do it again (lessons learnt) ? If there is have a beer and a pulled pork butty and think "Sod it, it's done now"
