Knowing the margins on the Kamados, you wont see them below the £650 mark here, shipping is the biggest killer and they need to be sent out on pallets so by the time you have added shipping you are still hitting the £700 mark.

I have been using (because we use the gas version for ready steady q and kids q) the outdoor chef easy charcol 570 which is a viable alternative to a Weber. It has a shield between the charcoal and the grate with a fat colelctor in the centre so no flair ups. It has a big vent handle, lid holder and tool hooks. by the time you add those options or similar to the weber its a cost effective unit.

What are you looking for in terms of capability?

A WSM cooks different to a UDS but in terms of layout they're obviously very similar. Would you be intrigued by a self build with materials coming in within your budget? If so then a Cajun microwave might be cool.

Another thought is keeping an eye out for a Cactus Jack on Fleabay.

These would be my thoughts if I had 400 notes burning a hole in my sky rocket.

I'd get a small big green egg for £450, just big enough for 2 to 4 people and can cook from 200 to 800 degF

Or what about maybe speaking to a fabricator....they may be able to knock something bespoke up for you?

Another alternative could be to get a Weber OTG off ebay for £65 and then get loads of cool accessories like a smokenator, rib-o-lator and rotisserie ring from the US and you'll still have enough money left over for a pizza stone. Then you've got a great cooker that can handle anything on a limited budget.
