Hi all
I'm going to be spending 24 hours in Chicago on Monday and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for BBQ restaurants in Chicago? I reckon I can fit in 2 or 3 meals! I'm just going by google maps recommendations at the moment but if anyone can point me at something special I'd be very grateful!

I've been reading about good things Smoque (not a typo) and am planning to head there next week, en-route to the Royal

yeah Cuan said smoque too - be there on Monday from about 2pm.

And yes Toby, that DOES mean 18 bbqs in KC. Got to make the most of it!

Smoque doesn't open on Monday, but I'll be there about 8pm on Tuesday

I hope at that time I'll either be devouring some BBQ at Jack Stack or having a rib eye and a cheeky beer or ten at the Makers Mark bar in KC.

I went to Gibsons a few months ago on a business trip to Chicago. I went there for steaks and I have to say it was one of the best i've had that I can remember (bone in ribeye, v. rare). The quality of the meat, the aging and the grilling was outstanding. I couldn't recommend it enough for steaks. I didnt have any other bbq but from what I had, I would happily eat my way through their menu!
