Replacement Burner

Hi

I have a Anthony Worrell Thompson model PR7000BLK gas BBQ.

I noticed last year that it was taking a longer time cook and on inspection I found I had cracks in the burner.

Can anyone recommend a good UK based or a company you have used for replacement burners please.

Thanks in advance.

Really not sure, I would start with where ever you purchased it. failing that robert dyas look like they sell them so ask them who the distributor is. last resort would be someone like a calor centre such as www.socal.co.uk who may be able to help in some way.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I bought it from Tesco in 2007 and they weren't very helpful. I will try the web link.

I'm able to source the part in Canada and USA but I'm a bit worried about purchaseing from an unknown.

I have exactly the same BBQ and problem. I have been searching web for a replacement but I can't find any. Did you manage to find one in UK or even overseas?

I've found a few possibilities but I'm still waiting a response from them.

I've been in touch with a lady on eBay but it will take 6 weeks to delivery from Canada. Do a search for S R Potten BBQ on eBay.

I spoke to Socal ask suggested in earlier post and he was really helpful you put me in touch with the company the rebrands our BBQ. A company called Slemcka in Birmingham, but they no longer get those parts. Told me USA or Canada. This was there reply:

Hi,
Apologises but we no longer are able to buy parts for this bbq , if you put the number pr7000 into google , 2 companies come up grill parts.com and bbq factory(via amazon) this burner should be available on both sites.
Best regards
Linda

I'm at a dead end at the moment waiting for a reply.

Delivery seems more expensive than the burner. About £60 for both.

Let me know if you find anything more out.

I feel your pain, my entry into gas years ago left me struggling for replacement burners, even when the rest of the BBQ was fine. Some if these were ore Internet days, so was a real struggle!

Moved onto Outback & then Weber who always had stock of spares - removed the frustration of throwing away perfectly good BBQ unit as postage / replacement costs were ridiculous.

Hope you manage to get it sorted

I have the same problem, bought from Robert Dyas (customer support pathetic) tracked down using the Robert Dyas Facebook page in the end to a UK importer. Same story, can not get parts, far eastern company gone out of business, etc.

Funny thing is, yes parts are available in the US! Anyway ordered burner (stainless steel) and new hot plate cover today. Cost Around £88 including shipping and taxes. We paid £199 for it 5 years ago, seems a shame to bin the whole unit for the sake of the burner. Hopefully the stainless steel one will last longer.

Site I used was http://www.thepartsbiz.com/

Hi Tony

Thanks for that. I emailed the company you have ordered from but didn't get a response. Let me know how you get on with delivery.

I'll purchase from there if you get a positive response.
