Briquettes or normal charcoal lump wood.

Postby Backyardsmoker » 17 Apr 2013, 10:33

I have read the normal advantages and disadvantages of both types of fuel.

My question is that because lump wood burns faster but is more stable to cook on than briquettes and briquettes burn hotter and longer is there any point in mixing bith types in a 60:40 mix the small part being the briquettes.

Just want to say sorry for lots of questiins but knowledge is power and If I want to do this right and do it good and maybe make money from it some how then I need to ask.

Cheers people.

I'm not sure you would have that much control, but I've not tried it myself. As to questions the answer lies in my tag-line :D

I have to say i use the catering grade lump wood charcoal from Makro and that stuff is great. As it is all natural and the chunks can be the size of your hand they are great and keep the heat steady for a long time. Hope this helps?
