Weight limit on an Excel 20?

Hi guys,

I am thinking about doing some really big bits of meat on the smoker soon and I wondered what the heaviest thing anyone has cooked on the Excel 20 was?

What is the heaviest amount of weight at any one time that you have put on the smoker?

Thanks

I've had 6 butts of 8lb each. Total weight 48lb. As you know that you can put a 3rd section on the Pro Q's, but I haven't been brave enough to exceed that weight. Some people were talking about smoking a whole piglet on one, but I'm not sure if the handle would take that sort of weight.

Regards

Eddie

Thanks Eddie, that is a good stat. Its good to know it can stand up to some good weight, I think I need to tighten the legs first, they are a bit wobbly at the moment.

when I used to cook on an Excel I occasionally loaded her up very heavily. I've had three stackers running choc-a-block with butts. I think you'll struggle to reach a weight that tests it.

What you might get is less airflow if you fill it too full, this in turn can lead to creosote build up.
