Smoker's lit. Pork butt on. Ribs + chicken thighs to go on later. Will be making some beans, Mac 'N Cheese and corn bread as well. It's a good life! :)

that's sounds wonderful, nice combination. I'm trying ribs, pork beans and sourdough tomorrow, for the first time, and it is a beautiful day. The world takes on a whole new apperence, with nice weather.

Here is Harry Soo's cornbread fro the public side of his website.

I believe he said buttermilk was the secret, full fat of course.

2 butts went on at 7am, ribs on later.

Family over tonight - first time I've used my WSM without needing a parasol to keep the rain off, so much more enjoyable!

I didn't make Harry's recipe as it is quite sweet (the children call than one cake bread!), I wanted something more savoury so did a recipe that has less eggs, less sugar but with bacon bits in it. It did include buttermilk. The end result was something a bit denser than Harry's but great for dipping in BBQ beans.

It was a good day yesterday, everyone enjoyed the food and there are plenty of left overs for today. Shame to say it was actually my first time making Mac 'N Cheese as I've never been a fan. Used and tweaked a recipe from Dr BBQ and really liked it, has a breadcrumb topping which was very nice

It is glorious today isn't yet. Yesterday we ended up sitting out till gone midnight. Feeling a bit knackered today as I got up at 5 yesterday to light the coals.

That's the bugger, wanting to stay up with friends after great food but shattered due to the early start!

My parents just bought me a sous vide for my birthday, so looking forward to playing with it over the coming weeks!
