Got the biggest BBQ but no cover

Postby vrghost » 21 Jun 2013, 11:21

Decided that I would start using a BBQ to extend my cooking, and after a lot of umming and arring between gas and charcoal I ended up deciding that the Char Griller duo was the one for me, not only because it can do both, but also as I sometimes ends up having a ridiculous number of people around, and when cooking for 15+ people it may be useful to have the full area to cook at.
Then I found that the unit supports a side fire box, which felt like something I just REALLY REALLY needed, have been planning to get a smoker for a long term, and for an extra £99 I got something I could use to start learning.

Here comes the problem, the unit with the side fire box is 211 cm long, and I can not find anywhere where they sell BBQ covers big enough, and the unit is known to have a bit of a rust problem, so thing it is really key to get a cover.

Anyone have any ideas where one can buy such a big cover, it needs to cover a cart that is
W: 211 cm
D: 63 cm
H: 127 cm

Hi vrghost and welcome.

Would a car trailer cover fit? Try googaling, I know trailers come in many sizes, or tarpulin perhaps? Have you contacted the manufactures?

Thank you very much for all the tips

After some hard core googling I manage to find out that the Char Griller 8080 cover (8080 being the model number) apparently fits both the standard 5050 duo and the 5050 with the side box (think they refer to it as trio with the side fire box), and there was a ebay seller who had them, so that should sort it all out.
