Hi folks,

New Kamado Joe owner from Scotland. I have wanted a ceramic cooker for a while now, as I was always outside trying to cook on my Cobb. Alright for burgers and sausages and the like, and they do say you can cook a whole chicken or roast, or even a pizza, and to some extent they can. But when it comes to searing steaks, they just do not give out enough heat, and the thicker steaks just end up being boiled. So the Cobb has been relegated to camping! Still a great piece of kit though.

Anyways, I committed to the standalone Kamado Joe classic and built my own table.

Here are some pics.

Here is the table in its raw state before I treated it with preservative and Fiddes Exterior High Build Wood Oil. A brilliant product that I would highly recommend for any external wood treatment.

The grab handles are cheap but surprisingly and satisfyingly good 'Disabled' grab rails for bathrooms etc. Super strong and obviously waterproof with stainless screws which were also very strong...perfect and only £12 each.

The solid oak is locally sourced quarter sawn and of superior quality.

The castors were a brilliant buy from EBAY for £20 for the set.

I am quite chuffed with the results and only £300 all in.

Sorry for showing off in my first post
