Hello all from East Grinstead.

Hi All,

Been reading for a while but haven't posted, and thought it was rude not to say Hello. (been too busy BBQing) :-)

Been slowly building up my Barbecue skills over the past couple of years since I rediscovered charcoal. Then my Wife bought me a Weber Smoky Mountain for my birthday in June and I'm slowly becoming addicted. I feel that i've I've got ribs down well. Tried pulled pork once and was a bit dry. Did a brisket (small one 1.5kg) a couple of weeks ago and was really happy with that, but I know it could be better with practice.

Got a big BBQ coming up at the weekend (family party) and I'm on point to BBQ. The Party is Saturday afternoon through the evening 50 or so people . So I was thinking of cooking overnight on Friday (Never tried this BTW). I'm thinking of Pulled pork (whole shoulder, bone in) and a small brisket. Then smoke some ribs during the day. Have the kettle going for hot dogs etc.. But I was wondering is it possible to smoke the brisket and the pork shoulder together in the same cook overnight? Or should I just pick one.

Not sure how to post pics on here, but will be happy to if someone can point me in the right direction.

I bet If I asked my GF if she knew what a Smokey Mountain was I'd be sure that a gorilla would be involved! Nice work.

Haha - Luckily Mrs RB understands the benefits of BBQing.. Although I'm sure that's mainly to do with the fact that it relieves her from Cooking Duties.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I've started the smoker up and the pork shoulder is on for an overnight cook (4 kilo so assume it will take a long cook.. This is the 1st time I've tried this overnight. So I'll post in the relevant forum with some pics :-)

Hi there,

I live in east Grinstead , we ( me and my gf) are planning to go for a day out and would like to do BBQ in open space , I am happy to get a ready out of box BBQ from Tesco and take it with me , we only need to use the BBQ for 2 to 3 hours to grill few pieces of chicken.

I am wondering if any one knows a free place that we could drive there and have our BBQ with out paying a fortune? (some camping site are ask for £100+VAT ).

any info and help would be much appreciated.

you could always use a disposable BBQuick which is virtually go anywhere just sit it on a brick, we used to use them when my son was MotoX racing
