Hi everyone,
I'm Dennis Brown from Atlanta, Georgia in the US. I've been que'ing most of my life and after judging several contest I decided I'd rather compete and formed the team Smokey Tales. We've since competed in KCBS, MBN and GBA contest primarily in Georgia. Nothing brings people together like a good old fashioned BBQ so I'm really looking forward to participating in this forum. We have tons of pictures from contest on our facebook site if you'd like to take a look.

Thanks for letting me join!! :D

Hi Dennis,
Welcome to the forum. My name is Scott Lane and I am pitmaster of Miss Piggy's. In just over 2 weeks time we fly to Atlanta and travel up to compete in the Dillard competition plus the franklin NC competition the weekend after. It would be great to meet you if you are at either competition.
Scott.

Hi Scott! Unfortunately I've got family obligations during those events so I won't be able to attend either one. Our next competition will be Pig & Peaches in Kennesaw, Ga. 8/24. If you are spending anytime in Atlanta while in here let me know and maybe we can get together for dinner or something. It would be great to meet you guys!

Welcome to the forum Dennis, nice to have someone like yourself on board. I would like to compete in the southern BBQ network comps in a year or two. Maybe you could give me a couple of pointers in how to go about it ?

Regards

Eddie

I would be glad help any way I can Eddie. In my opinion it's the most competitive BBQ region in the country so it's always a challenge to get your name called. But you won't meet a more friendly group in people in the states. Southern hospitality is what we're all about.
