Hello all,

Surprised I couldnt find a thread for this already but apparently the words "big smoking weekend" are too common to search for. Apologies if there is already one.

A huge thanks to Toby for arranging the weekend and to everyone else involved. Also to the hogs back Brewery for their excellent beer/cider.

It was great to meet you all face to face and talk hardcore BBQ. Also thanks for all the things I was lent/given as im useless - Drip tray, injector, brown sugar, sun cream, red bull...and probably more. I hope we helped some of you out as well.

Also to the guys who gave us the beef ribs, sorry I cant remember your names, it reminded me how much I need to do more of them. Probably my favourite thing I cooked all weekend, just a shame they wernt entered in a category. Hope you got some.



Big congrats to all the winners and I hope to see you all at another comp soon.

Great to meet you all, and really pleased you had a good time! Got a couple of dates for next year probably looking at events taking place on the first weekend of every month from May until September but will keep you posted!!!

Not sure how I missed knowing about the event despite being here daily. Is it something I would see if not using tapatalk, or am I just dense spotting the dates / threads?!

Just to re-iterate othesr, a great event and a real eye opener for a newbie like me (especially from a judges perspective!)
