Ooh, I might try a slowcooker, if I can get my paws on one in time. It would definitely be useful until I can get the galley properly sorted, and if I find I don't use it after that I can always rehome it.

In the slow-cooker with or without foil? Do I add any liquid or just leave it to stew in its own juices, as it were?

I would say without foil. You could get one from Argos and return it if you were naughty :roll:
