Hi all, is it worth the upgrade to cast iron grate for me OTP? if so where can i get one? I have seen them in quarters and they seem like a good idea.

I love my cast iron grate, I wouldn't grill without them in. I had these on my OTP

I've got the craycourt grates. I do like them but they do need a bit of looking after (seasoning)

Yeah, they are the ones i have seen! They look fantastic. What do you mean by seasoning?

Sealing with oil by repeatedly heating and brushing oil on to create a non stick surface

I have a cast iron grate on my Napoleon and think it's great. Amazingribs are a bit down on them, but I have no problem generating either traditional griddle marks or an all over brown - it just depends on the heat and proximity to the charcoal. Just for proof, and because everyone likes a bit of BBQ porn, see the 2lb bone in rib steak that I cooked at the weekend:
