Hi all

I have been using the pro q frontier for a while now and I could never keep steady temps, so the last time I used it I found some tape that is used for ducting or something and wrapped it around all the joints which worked really really well but obviously the glue on the tape melted on and has left my smoker in a right state.

Can anyone suggest a much cleaner and just as effective way to seal the gaps?

Second to that - had a similar issue with my first grill, the silicone solved it during the very first bbq that followed the purchase.

I can work out how to apply the silicone on the doors but I cant figure out how to apply it ti the joins in the stacks and still be functional?

Do you use water in the pan or a clay saucer? I use the latter on my pro q and mange to keep temps between 215-250 no problem.

apply it to the flange part of the stacker, cover it in cling film and put together. The cling film stops it bonding to the other parts. You can push the sealant about under the cling film to even it out or tidy it up. Once cured you should be able to peel the cling film off if not trim it back.

I use a clay saucer the temps still wasnt that stable thats when I decided to deface my little beut with tape.

Ill go and get some silicone at the weekend and give that ago cheers.

I solved the problem with my doors using the silicon, and as recommended on here butter as a barrier on the body.

Butter??
