I think there was a thread on here a while back on this. The most success was with Asian stores I believe.

Thanks Adie, I am struggling to find them at the moment. I might have to venture down Soho Rd in Handsworth.

you can get tinned ones here -http://www.mexgrocer.co.uk- not fresh, but at least they're whole ones - and quite cheap too! ;)

I just use the Sainsburys mixed chillies which always workout really well.

I've also heard that if you soak them over night in Sprite it will take out some of the heat if your guests aren't too used to the heat.

Not heard of the Sprite trick but something to keep in mind for future reference.

I just add sugar to cooking, that should take some of the heat out of spicy food if it's too much...also after cutting them up you can dip your fingers in a mild acid such as lemon/lime juice to neutralise the alkalinity and then you won't burn your nose when picking it afterwards

Sainsbury's are selling 'mixed hot' peppers at the moment, the bag contains scotch bonnets, fryers hats, jalapenos and something else. If I were you though i'd just go with the regular 'green peppers' from any supermarket they seem around the same heat to me, i use them for my abts :)

Tescos green chillis are jalapenos. I bought some yesterday. It doesn't say on the pack but it does on the website.
What are they called in the asian shops Al?
