What makes you think the forum is dead, its certainly quiet at the moment, as are 4/5 other forums I belong to.
Its that time of year before things get going. The sausage making forum is certainly the same.
I know a lot of people prefer to use FB. But the articles tend to disappear off the bottom of the page, never to be seen again. Hopefully see more activity soon.

Fair enough.
The thread annoyed me due to the complete lack of knowledge on subject matter.
Sausagemaking.org is very good forum, although all the curing can get very technical.

Hi
I like the facebook page, its good to put peoples faces to the names but I always come back on here to read all the posts.
This is where it all started for me with regards to smoking.
I actually know nothing about veal so I guess I learnt a bit from this post.

It certainly can, sometimes I reread those posts and wonder if I have entered another universe...

Mr Miller
I will not be mentioning beer can chicken on facebook again
I think some people just want to argue, on another post someone was trying to get into an argument with Toby.
Its normally nice and peaceful on here

Mr Slatter
I don't know, it was quite funny really. The amount of people who get really upset over something so trivial. yes I still do BCC (well cider), yes the alcohol does evaporate, I measured 300ml into a can, was left with 200ml at the finish. Does it get into the chicken, don't know, don't care. The theatrics are worth the effort, and my chickens do taste better....
And as I have stated before, with the forum, you can easily find information, on FB once its disappeared its almost impossible to find.
Peaceful, mostly. But there have been some brilliant arguments on here, if you search back a few years...
EDITED to add: Mark, less of the formal stuff on here

Sorry Derek
Yeah i'll always do beer can chicken, like yourself I like the reaction from my guest when it comes off the smoker.
Love the people that bite over the "science" bits, as though science has no place in bbq lol
I haven't seen any arguments on here, i'll keep my eye out for the next one and watch from afar
