Hi there. I'm pretty new to the bbq thing and looking forward to learning more. Hoping to get a Weber kettle soon to start experimenting. I've really enjoyed watching the BBQ Pit Boys on YT: http://www.youtube.com/user/BarbecueWeb ... M0rLo5RBew.

Lucky enough to have a great butcher near to where I live: http://www.elliottsdeli.co.uk/index.php. They rear their own animals and the meat is fab.

It won't be long now.

Welcome to the site. I'm just north of Peterborough, so not a million miles away from you. I started off on a Weber kettle and can well recommend it to learn on.

Welcome aboard.

The Weber kettle is a cracking cooker to own, it's obviously great for grilling and not too shabby for cooking indirect too. All in all a great all rounder and a sound investment

Partly because I wanted to start experimenting with low and slow cooking - which you can do with the kettle, but it is just a little more effort. Mostly because I wanted a new gadget to play with.

However, I haven't let go of the kettle permanently. This weekend just gone, I went and visited some friends and left them with my kettle on loan from the summer - they were interested in getting a BBQ, but hadn't decided between charcoal and gas. This will give them a chance to try charcoal.

Having said that, I will have it back from them eventually, as I find it is just too useful to let go of permanently.

Yes. After a few videos you soon realise that it has almost magical powers. I've been tempted to add one to my wishlist - might scare the wife though. Love the accent too.

What about results from the smoker - any better than low 'n' slow on the kettle?
