ASDA "the big american portable smoker grill"
I bought a new BBQ last night in....... ASDA
I've seen the new portable Weber BBQ but it's £80 and only has an exhaust port, no inlet port and last night I saw this in ASDA for half the price
http://direct.asda.com/george/george-ho ... lt,pd.html
So I thought it's got to be worth a punt, and it's more portable than my little kettle BBQ.
It's still in the box but going to christen it this weekend, will let you know how it goes and give you a brief review of it and I am away for a week next week so will see if I am allowed BBQ's where I am going and if so I'll take it with me for a more 'portable test'

Well, it's like a little Ikea jobby, you get it our of the box and get a set of nuts and bolts which they have labelled (badly) and you put it together.
Front

Left

Right

Rear
You'll notice no air intake but you can get around this with by opening the ash box drawer

Inside

Inside
You can see now that by opening the ash box you get a sizable air intake at the front and the back of the box

In Use
Set up for a bit of offset action, we had some steak, pork tenderloin, asparagus, sausages and crem cheese stuffed jalapeno's wrapped in bacon (my new fave)

So yeah, a good little BBQ, considerably bigger than the Weber offering but I think a lot more usable in what you can get on it although it was a pain figuring out which nuts and bolts to use initially and you either need the hands of a twelve year old or the patience of a saint (neither of which I have) to get all the little tiny bolts through the holes and the little teeny weeny little washers and itsy bitsy little nuts together and fastened. In the end I resorted to name calling, swearing, throwing of spanners and temper tantrums and finally got them all in and fastened.
For £40, it's a deal, it's a steal, it's the sale of the century, if you're after a good little BBQ to take away then this would be a good buy for you

I think I'd do the same as I did for my UDS and use sheet magnets over 1" holes as intakes. I might have to pick one of these up!

Yeah, they are a good bit of kit.
My only criticism so far is the warming rack, which you can easily remove, but I was using it for the jalapeno poppers, but if the rack is on then it can be a bit of a faff moving stuff around, but it's hardly a deal breaker.
Deffo a good little bit of kit
