BBQ Picnic

I received a portable BBQ for my birthday this year (nothing special just something cheap to see if I would use and enjoy it) and all I managed to do was go to Crosby Beach (Liverpool / Southport area) so I was wondering if anyone has any tips and any special places to enjoy a picnic bbq?
