Having trouble fitting your probes in WSM/ProQ?

Post by Eddie »

For a while now I have been putting my probe cables through a gap of a door on my Pro Q's because they don't fit through the probe inlets provided. Well that now might end very soon? Have a look at this neat video and see if this new simple idea could improve your smoker. No reason why they cannot be used on a UDS as well?

I'm not a religious man, but I'd be praying to every god out there (including the ones with far too many tentacles) that the drill doesn't slip and ruin the enamel

That's why in the video he place the tape on the side first.

I've been using these in my UDS. No idea what temperature they're rated to but they're showing no signs of burning or melting even after I accidentally set my thermometer to celsius and blasted it up to 250.

I gently squeezed the end of my ET porbs and they fit the existing ProQ grommets with no problems.

Looks easy enough to do. I note that video is from Macs BBQ, Pro Q suppliers.

Not sure why they don't just make a bigger hole in the first place. :?
