My Simple Burger Recipe

Good old British Beef, you can't beat it! Of course Brisket is the American BBQ favorite but recipes for any cut are welcome here.

My Simple Burger Recipe

I'm sure this may seem pretty simple and others have posted but thought I'd share my burger recipe as it has turned out well on the hob, kettle and disposable BBQ alike

Half a finely diced onion
2 de-seeded chillies finely diced
Quarter tea spoon garlic granules
Quarter tea spoon cayenne chilli
Quarter tea spoon cumin
1 beaten egg
1 tablespoon bread crumbs
750g cheap minced beef (over 20% fat as this keeps them juicy

Mix everything except the meat, then "finely crumble" the meat in the bowl and mix in. Create your patties, I have a plastic burger press that was about £5. Don't make them too firm! Fridge it for 1 hour, then get to burning them burgers, don't forget the relish and serve!!!

Sounds nice, I like burgers will chilli in them, my family doesn't. I generally just do a plain mix and then add the extra flavour to the outside.

Aris - second that. There's a great Weber recipe where you reduce Cabernet sauvignon wine with a little brown sugar and add it to the mince. Makes a great burger.

Though I do like the idea of adding a bit of spice to the meat too!

It really depends on the meat. Really good quality mince speaks for itself. If it is cheaper quality - I don't mind adulterating it :)
